Cher has never been one to shy away from speaking his mind.
The pop diva announced earlier this month that she is endorsing Heidi Shink, a former bandmate of his son Chaz Bono, the race for the City of West Hollywood.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the singer and actress she says West Hollywood "has a very special place in [his] heart" because it was the birthplace of his career.
"More importantly, this city is where my son Chaz has chosen to live, where you feel accepted and safe," he continues. "My most important role in life is that of a mother and like any mother, I value the happiness of my son above all else.
"That's why it's so important to me that is on the Board of the City of West Hollywood and why this election is so vital in June. I urge everyone to vote for Heidi," she says.
Cher, 68, organized a fundraiser to support the campaign Shink April 18 In the statement, she talks more about the qualifications of Shink.
"I've seen his early activism in the 1980s, he admired his long advocacy for numerous causes of social justice in the 90s and saw become what it is today - a public servant fledged national, statewide and local ", the" Believe "says the singer.
