'Cher' The Road: Funny Ad Drives Home Serious Safety Message

"If you talk to people often hear people say drivers and motorists do not always get along or do not know how to share the road," said Allison Wilson, program director of Healthy Living Alliance.

Local Actor Jeff Houghton wrote and produced a public service announcement that is gaining much attention. Houghton in the ad, and joined by local comedian George Hoffman, held at Moon City Improv.

"Many of my friends ride bicycles to work. So, it's a serious thing for me. I do not want any of them do not make a day of work," Hoffman said.

"We hope people remember the rap on their heads while out cycling or driving- because both parties have to follow the right rules and get along and share the road, Wilson said.

The highlight of the announcement is an apparition of a lady who looks and sounds a lot like Cher, the animator. Kelly Smith's actually one of the most recognized Cher impersonators out there. She is a part of the legends in the lineup of concerts and performed in theaters in Branson to Las Vegas. She also sang for a movie about Sonny and Cher.

"She's great. She looks like Cher, she sounds like Cher, she's awesome," Hoffman said. "We shot that portion of the shopping street and a lot of people came out and thought it was really Cher".

For real quick blip remember that thought this would really help people laugh and help it stick in the minds of people. I have to say this is one of my proudest moments of work to date, "said Wilson.

From now on, the trade is only playing in the Springfield market. However, Healthy Living Alliance has submitted the piece to national transport agencies. HLA says he hopes the ad is removed and customary in other cities too.

Cher Concert A Fabulous Spectacle

Cher materialized into a seven meter pedestal wearing a feather headdress massive peacock and a sheer dress, beglittered to dazzle the packed house at the Credit Union Centre.

The statuesque diva sang her 2013 alone, the world of women, in front of a huge video screen, combined with setting decorations, lights and eight dancers hard body in motion, provided the energy nonstop all show Saturday night and two hours.

Cher moved right into a swagger, air-punching version of Strong enough to break before committing to the Saskatoon public.

She hoped that the crowd appreciated risking his neck on the pedestal with "only floss" holding her 68-year-old self there. Before anyone could raise an eyebrow at that revelation, he chided, "What is your granny to do tonight?"

Despite making his first farewell tour "gazillion years ago," she said, she is back, fabulous in "ridiculous costumes" do a show to challenge female performers everywhere.

"I Outdo this, bitches!" Said the television viewer’s attitude snapping fingers first admired his skill with then-husband Sonny Bono in his 1970s variety show.

Famous body of work Cher provided plenty of videos to distract the mini-films that played during the impressively quick costume changes, 11 in total.

She returned to the stage after a moving montage of Sonny and Cher in her third outfit, a bright red minidress, shiny go-go boots and long straight hair with bangs from his early days, you have to chant a duet with Nena black a video of Bono, who died in 1998 and white.

The miracle of cosmetic surgery, wigs and makeup to allow audiences to see a well-preserved, star, still version that mysteriously resembles the Oscar winning actress for Moonstruck 1987.

For a change of wardrobe, two male dancers intertwined and centrifuged as hanging from ribbons and, later, from large metal globe cages, which, combined with sumptuous sets and rich costumes circus to create a show of Cirque du soleil feel.

As the show went off towards its climax, almost dressed dancers carried in a giant Trojan horse of gold, from which emerged his gold-ness singing take it like a man.

All this led to an ending that, Cher, dressed in shocking pink demure, harness halo, ensconced aboard a church-icon inspired bright platform hanging from a cable, slipped above the audience down all the way to the other end of the arena while singing the hymn of farewell I hope you find it.

The evening began with Cyndi Lauper, in the guise of a witch hoodies, bright red hair back, surprised by playing a haunting melody on a recorder Middle of She-bop.

The place fell to reveal a black leather vest and boots bustle of combat in which he made a lively, sassy Girls Just Wanna Have Fun I style show.

The tour coincides with the 30th anniversary of the album's breakthrough Lauper, She So Unusual. Word that Saturday's show was on the eve of his 61th birthday sparked a spontaneous chorus of Happy Birthday from the audience.

Concert Review: Cher Says Goodbye To Atlanta With A Sequined Spectacle

Some musical events concerts. Some are shows.
But Cher craft their outputs always live as something totally unique - glasses are embellished to the point of excess. A concert in a show in a Broadway production.

Throw in her trademark feistiness - "It's been 11 years since I was on the road ... and I thought I was older then, " he told the crowd worship Philips Arena with the ba -dum -bum time for a pro Borscht Belt - Aerialists , gymnasts, dancers, lights and lock agile steps and you have an impressive 95-minute romp .

The actress and singer -icon turns 68 next weeks and keep the jokes of plastic surgery, is in great shape.
Whether semi - it baring her bottom for " Half Breed" - which also featured a hit to the foot, in case anyone noticed - Cher- jumping around the stage in a version of his memorable "If I Could Turn Back Time " peek- a- boo tights boasting a bra or skin-colored heart with pies during" Believe " , it looked great.

From the opening night of this " Dressed to Kill" tour about seven weeks in Phoenix, the show has followed where appropriate (set of parts rotate smoothly, does two songs have been cut - sorry, " Shoop Shoop [it’s in his kiss] " and " Heart of Stone " fans) and Cher seemed imbued with confidence and energy while engaged in some light dance steps with his entourage and joked with the crowd Monday night.

As proof that this really , really is his farewell tour - yes , we also learn that during his 2002-2005 tour - Cher said : " If I went back , I'd be dead ... and a lot of it would be dead ! . , also I'm not kidding , this is my goodbye , goodbye, my honest-to- goodness -I'm - never -coming - back- I swear - . a- God turns "
If true, it actually going out with a bang (Bang?).

Since opening two punch of "The World of Women" and "Strong Enough", performed in a multicolored helmet designed to evoke “oohs " from the crowd for its opulence with gas , Cher empowerment planted its flag and let it fly overnight.

She - a husky and full voice - and her band five tense parts took fans on a quick trip through the greatest hits of the past with a stylish atmosphere of the '60s (think suits white stripes black and and go-go boots) for " the Beat Goes on" and " I Got You Babe" , both made with the venerable Sonny Bono in the video.
A circus of the 19th century - strong men and quirky characters - Frame the backdrop for abridged "Dark Lady" and” Gypsys , Tramps and Thieves " versions like Cher walked across the stage with a colorful dress and a brown wig .

However, an early high point came with the sensual “Welcome to Burlesque “from the 2010 film (“Burlesque " ) starred with Christina Aguilera. The film could have defined mediocrity, but the soundtrack showcased this sassy gem - made with Cher troop lists of Broadway dancers - and the wonderfully defiant ballad: "We have not seen the last of me," Cher nailed a robust voice.

While talk inevitably focus on the most ostentatious masterpieces - the huge golden horse that opened to reveal a Cher- blonde wig for the popper dance floor " Take it like a man, " the video of Cher -as- vampire well produced precedent " Dressed to Kill " - some of the most memorable moments of the show came without the razzle Dazzle .

A rootsy take on Marc Cohn "Walking in Memphis” was highlighted by the harmonics of the two Gospel singers, and even the anthem of the 80's "I Found Someone" fluttered gracefully on the strength of its strong chorus and lyrical resonance.

And while dancers dressed in dazzling neon pumped up "Believe" was fun to watch, it was much more important to note Cher close the night with a new ballad, "I Hope You Find It", while flying over the crowd while belting the soulful song.

If this really was the end, what more can I say but thank you, Cher, for being irreplaceable.
The sister of Cher in awesomeness, Cyndi Lauper, opened the night with a set an hour full of funny jokes (not a surprise to anyone who has seen it before), potently hits delivered (EOD vocal ability this woman never decrease?)

And a few setbacks welcome to celebrate the 30th (!) anniversary of “She’s So Unusual.”
Initially dressed in a mixture of Raggedy Ann red wig , red taffeta and black and satin ( "I wanted to look like I was on fire to Hotlanta ," he joked ) , tight black pants and combat boots, Lauper , who released " She Bop "from the back of the arena floor , it was a hoot and a half.

She reminded the crowd that opened for Cher’s tour about 12 years ago, and then dovetail into the story behind the percussion synth- ska of “Witness”, before he performs with his five-piece band.
During the haunting “All Through the Night," Lauper exercised a light hand under chin, illuminating her porcelain face as the elegant ballad crooned.

Since she won a Tony for the Broadway hit " Kinky Boots" ( she is also a Grammy and Emmy winner , so you can get your Oscar , please , to complete the EGOT ? ) , Lauper told stories about Harvey Fierstein (who wrote the book " Kinky " ) and explained how she wrote some of the songs from the musical.
Then he plunged into “not my father's son," a stunning ballad series on a cappella, and polished nightclub crowd to please, "Sex is in the Heel.”

Of course, fan favorites "Time After Time" (yet melancholy and beautiful) and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” (a necessity, but hardly the best song) made appearances were very well received.
But it was an electrifying , vocally demanding " Money Changes Everything " which ignited the stage, followed by the other end of the emotional seesaw , the ever poignant " True Colors " .
Some things, like Lauper and Cher does not always have to change.

Concert Review | Cher & Cyndi Lauper: Singers Know All About Having Fun

Cher and Cyndi Lauper, two iconic singers dazzled an audience filled Nationwide Arena last night at a concert that was as musically impressive show.

Cher, 67, made an impressive entrance. The curtain fell, and there she was, standing atop a 20-foot pole, looking like a cross between an Egyptian queen and a Vegas showgirl as she sang World Women and Strong Enough.

"This is my farewell farewell tour, I'm not kidding, and “she said with a nod and crossed fingers. "I'm too old for this. "

For this tour, Cher said, “I’m going out; singing in fabulous outfits and is fabulous.”

And that's just what he did , wearing 11 different outfits , including a mind -blowing , earth moving Indian headdress feather pink , blue and orange for Half Breed . Also emerged as a Trojan horse for a blond warrior Take it as a man ; you appeared in , empanadas thing heart shaped silver fringed platinum / pink hair to believe ; and wore a tux linda- creation and Welcome to Burlesque.

But a concert is more than fashion. Distinctive contralto voice of Cher was stronger than ever in most of the songs , especially when you have not seen the last of me; I Found Someone ; If I could turn back time ; Just like Jesse James , and a cover of Marc Cohn Walking in Memphis.

A highlight came when Cher sang, apparently late ex-husband Sonny Bono, the I Got You Babe and videos of him is. "I've thought about doing this a long time ago, but never could," Cher said. “But since this is the last tour ... He was such a ham. He would love this. "

Cher concluded his concert in a dress, halo and blonde braids while hovering over the crowd to sing I hope you are.

Cyndi Lauper gave a great performance of 60 minutes to open the night. Lauper wore a hooded robe and walked through the crowd like a boxer who comes to the ring while singing She Bop. She took it to reveal a black leather get- up, combat boots and long flaming red hair as I kiss you sang.

While singing the reggae -flavored Witness, Lauper, 60, was spinning around like 1984 again. This was repeated in the songs and dances the night life and sex is in the heel, this latest song from his Broadway show Kinky Boots. She also cried Changes Money.

All as if his luck had changed suddenly.

There was a bit of art on All Through the Night, with Lauper illuminating his face with a light stick, holding a mirror ball in front of his face and holding long, beautiful notes. There was also some humor in Girls just wanna have fun.

Then there were the glittering ballads and again, the hat full of stars and true colors. On the latter, Lauper cried at the end: “Do not be afraid that you will for everyone ".

Cher Delights Buffalo Crowd With Glib Gab And A Hit-Filled Show

Cher delights crowd with gab glib and FNC show full of hit

The voice boomed from behind a closed curtain, " Everyone remembers to take his heart medication because I 'm about to go!”

The stage was only partially lit, but there was no doubt whose body was attached to the voice. That would be Cher, an icon of American popular music for over 40 years and even at age 67, a pop star capable of filling a space the size of First Niagara Center without even a false eyelash.

In a subsequent farewell tour , this time in support of her album 26 , " Closer to Truth" , Cher came as the reigning queen of pop kitsch , a diva with serious credentials, and incredibly , a voice that has stood the stones of years with such vitality as the body that houses that voice.

Upon reaching the top of the stage, tied to a high pedestal and wearing what looked like a Cleopatra costume of the time with a headdress of peacock feathers invented plucked, Cher spent the rest of his show a set that shows that although the flesh may be weak, the heart endures.

The only female artist can boast of number one hits in five different decades, Cher sang most of them, but the songs seemed to be secondary to the countless costume changes and generous chunks of saucy banter between songs. Was he charming?

Yes, so abundantly. How was your age? No, not even a little. Was the whole thing a striking presentation of Vegas-style cheese? Well, yes, of course. Duh.

"The world of women,” a bit of electronic dance music punctuated with touches of self-empowerment of women in the lyric department, came as a current dance club banger, and rather abruptly rubbed itself up against an ode to the 70's disco as "Strong Enough”.

The crowd - an interesting mix of age groups , unified in what sure looked like a love all consuming to Cher - was on their feet from the start , even when the object of affection of high same mass of glue an outfit change before "Dressed to Kill " as a troop of dancers started a series of style Cirque du Soleil highly impressive moves , wearing a slightly smoothed version of the kind of gear modern slavery Malcolm McLaren and Vivien Westwood could " have been selling in his shop in London , circa 1977.

Cher stopped a little simplistic with people gab, but insincerity did not last long, despite the fact that his joke has not changed much from night to night on this tour, according to the revisions to the date. (Yes, I am suggesting that the interaction with the public Cher is a hyphen. ) Can you say the same, night after night after night, and still mean? I think so. Cher certainly seemed to enjoy the back and forth with the audience on Wednesday.

Things had gotten a little heavy on the side of the dance music of the scale at this point, but Cher wisely withdrew, bidding us to bask in nostalgia - or false, if we were too young to have been there - as she ventured back to life with Sonny Bono.

A " duet" on " I Got You Babe" , with the late Sonny Cher singing as he rises above it on a massive video screen , which could have been embarrassingly schlocky , but somehow seemed sincere . A medley of solo hits after the first Sonny was marred by ridiculously exaggerated theater sets, choreographed dance, and for "Half Breed”, a little introduction Native American-themed stretching the limits of credulity.

And yet, to hear Cher singing “Gypsys , Tramps and Thieves" , "Dark Lady" and " Half Breed" We were offered a visceral emotion, everyone around me seemed to be willing to indulge in.

Opener Cyndi Lauper definitely stole the show, if we were to decide these things based on musical merit alone. FNC Wednesday's concert was the first in the tour Lauper, and some technical difficulties pushed back his start time, and made it all work a little late.

None of this seemed to faze Lauper or her group , which led to the tables as they are experienced professionals , and the 30th anniversary of the album 's breakthrough celebrated Lauper , " She 's So Unusual " , playing most .

Lauper has lost none of his ability to sing - along her set, she nailed the high notes of the 80s pop classics as " She Bop ", " I kiss you ", "Time After Time" and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun " with what sounded like domain effortlessly With just a bit of reverb on the voice - . no auto- tune or Backing tracks - Lauper presented a master course in pop singing a bis soul . “True Colors “with Lauper in dulcimer provided high musical night.
